IPO forecast

“By the end of the year, N26 will be structurally IPO-ready,” co-CEO Maximilian Tayenthal said in an interview in 03/2022.

N26′s stock market debut could take place as early as 2024, though the firm is in no rush to list.

Global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised N26 on the change of the legal form of its holding company, N26 GmbH, and N26 Bank GmbH, each into a stock corporation (Aktiengesellschaft) in terms of employment law and financial regulatory law. The conversion is a necessary intermediate step on the way to a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE) and a possible IPO.

In 02/2024 Founder and CEO Valentin Stalf said an IPO for N26 is 3 to 5 years away.

Update as of 04/2024: Maximillian Tayenthal, the co-founder and co-CEO of N26, was presenting at FIBE, Berlin's fintech festival. According to Maximillian Tayenthal, N26 doesn't need any fresh funding. The neobank is moving to profitability and not planning IPO (the company does not need it).

Separately, Valentin Stalf, co-founder of N26, stated in 04/2024 that an initial public offering is at least two years away and would only be considered once the bank has tripled its revenue to approximately €1 billion ($1.14 billion).
