CEO McKay who'd been championing the IPO (in 2025 one acquisition offer below $3B was rejected), left in 04/2026 with CFO Ken MacAskill stepping in as interim CEO.

In 01/2024 Snyk drafted IPO prospectus. But the timing was not set yet. "I can pick the time when I go public. I don't need to rush,” the CEO said. McKay does think regulatory conditions will improve in 2025, but sees 2026 as being even more favourable.

"I think the new administration will make things a little bit easier on both IPOs and M&A. We feel 2025 will be better and 2026 will be even better,” he said. “Internally, we feel as though we're ready [to IPO]. Externally, I think we're watching.”

In 12/2021, amid a healthier economy, it was reported that the company was planning to launch an initial public offering by mid-2022, targeting a valuation of greater than $8.5B. However, Snyk’s plans were never officially confirmed, so it’s not clear if the IPO was canceled, delayed or in fact never on the table.
