IPO

Epic Games, Amazon, Microsoft and several other companies were in talks to buy Discord. Microsoft estimated the messenger at $12B. Epic Games and Amazon estimated Discord at $15 to $18B.
According to the press, Discord refused the deals because it decided that an IPO would be a more profitable step for the company.
To prepare for the IPO, Discord hired Finance Director Tomasz Marcinkowski, who previously worked at Pinterest.
Forbes has included Discord among the next most anticipated IPOs.
In 03/2025, Discord Inc. started working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS) and JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM) on a potential initial public offering (IPO), which could take place in 2025.
As of 01/2025, Discord Inc. has confidentially filed for an IPO and is working with Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan on a potential listing. However, deliberations are ongoing and, as of 01/2025, the company could still decide not to proceed with a listing.
